The first song that Graham ever wrote was a 32 bar melody on his violin when he was eleven. Six years later, while tracing his shadow and reading 'Marcovaldo or the Seasons in the City' by Italo Calvino, he wrote his first lyrical melody.
lyrics
Hey Marcovaldo are you finding what you’re looking for
Are you seeing what you saw before
And will you ever see it again?
Hey Marvovaldo are you eating what you’re hungry for
As you sit there on the kitchen floor
With the water in your hands?
Can you breathe with your eyes,
Can you dream with your thumb,
Will your heard bleed for the magpies
To twitter with your thumb?
Marcovaldo
Hey Marcovaldo are you holding what your hands are for
As you throw your coat upon the floor
Because you’re so excited to run?
Look Marcovaldo I know you’re trying to find what comes before,
But it came then they came then we came,
And what’s coming now is already gone.
Can you breathe with your eyes,
Can you dream with your thumb,
Will your heard bleed for the magpies
To twitter with your thumb?
Marcovaldo
