Blush 04:47
underacheivers acheiving greatness do they know that they can save us very beautiful girls found in all sorts of places sitting in the sun with tthe wind blowing in their hair across beautiful faces I stumble with my feet and I stumble with my tongue I fall right on my face make myself look dumb my cheeks are turning red on my face you see me blush now she's gone with wanderlust the way the moon stares at the darkside of the earth it's the you stare at me it feels so good but it hurts
2.
Paper 03:01
bits of paper falling down falling down into the gutter maybe it would be better if they were lost forever bits of paper being found being found laying in the gutter maybe it would be better if they were found and treasured but i never know what they're trying to say to me but i can comprehend that in this world with infinite possibilities life fllows like ink straight from the hand bits of paper being read being read interpretations maybe it would be better if we could never understand bits of paper being heard being heard through spoken word maybe it would be better if we knew everything had a plan

i am a man and i am the sun i'm doing everything i can shining on everyone this is what i think of you are what i think of she is what i think of this is all i think of the suns coming up so i am heading west i could never tell you i'll let you imagin the rest
4.
The Country 03:41
in the country when you're driving and the smoke blows in your windows you can smell the maple burning sweet scent lingers aroung you're knows in the country when you're driving folloowing lines upon the road and lightning lights up everything that your mind already know in the country when the country's burning god damn it's raining and it's foggy you can't see right down to your toes but you can run in any direction and no one will ever know that in the sunrise and the sunset you can see heaven coming through the sky we can share all of these moments in the country just you and i in the country when the country's burning when the sun goes down we can make sweet loving by the fireside when the sun goes down you can feel it all over taht everything will be alright in the country when the country's burning
5.
you can't break a diamond but you can break my heart you can spend a lifetime searching for the stars or you can feel my scars I am autumns breeze between the hours of ten and noon you are summers final breath I will be there to see you leave I'll be everything that's left if we are speaking of yesterday you should know i'm trying to forget the past I'm trying to kill these memories the ones that seem to last I am autumns breeze between the hours of ten and noon you are summers final breath I will be there to see you leave I'll be everything that's left

about

Graham recorded 'Smoke & Burning Things' late one night when, as usual, he could not sleep. Each song on the album was recorded on one track with no editing, save a touch or reverb, and four of the five songs were recorded in one take. In contrast to the first collection of songs, 'Low Light', Graham decided to keep this collection simple and sparse to accentuate the lyrics and the melody of these songs.
